Promotion

Det-Sergt, Kenneth Wilburn L.L.B., 36-years-old, second son of Mrs. T. L. Rowland, Genoa Street, Mexborough, and of the late Mr. Harry Rowland, Conisbrough has been    promoted Divisional Inspector at Rotherham.

Inspector Wilburn has been in the West Riding Police for 15 years, 11 years in the C.I.D.

Educated at Garden Street and Adwick Road School, Mexborough, he was on the staff at Denaby Main Colliery before joining the Police at the age of 20.

He has been stationed at Batley and Dewsbury and latterly as a lecturer at the C.I.D. school at Wakefield headquarters. Thirteen months ago he gained his L.L.B.degree with honours at Leeds University, where he had been studying two days a week.
