Obituary – David Beevers.          

The death of Mr. David Beevers occurred on Wednesday, January 18th, at his home, 59 Hirst Gate, Mexborough.

Mr. Beevers was the second son of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Beevers, an old Mexborough family.

He was born in Church Street, Mexborough, and after a period at Hull he came back to Mexborough in 1904.

He worked at Cadeby Colliery Coke Ovens before commencing at the Don Corn Mills, Mexborough in 1945 where he succeeded the late Mr. W. Booker as foreman of the grain department of the mill. a position he held up to his death.

He was a member of Mexborough Athletic Club, the Barnsley Co.operative Sports Club and the R.A.O.B.
