New Rotary Club President

The Mexborough and District Rotary club held its annual meeting on Tuesday, and unanimously elected the Reverend Francis Briggs, D.D., Vicar of Mexborough, to the position of president for the ensuing year, in succession to Mr. W. R Dale, of the firm of Dale, Brown and Co., Ltd., Swinton, who has held office for the last two years.

Mr. H. E. Elliott was elected vice-president. Mr. M. .W. Medcalf was elected secretary  in succession to Mr. C. P. Tiptaft, who has held the position since the formation of the club in 1924. Mr. S. Worrall was re-elected treasurer.‘ Dr.. J. F. Hamilton, Mr. C. P. Tiptaft, and Mr. J. F. Long were elected to ‘the Council. Mr. C. Marshall Hattersley was re-elected speaker-finder.

Dr. Hamilton and Mr. H. Hannath were elected auditors, and. Mr. H. R. Hupple and Mr. H. E. Elliott delegates.

The meeting, which was largely occupied with the domestic business of the club, was a very. Pleasant one. The retiring officers were cordially thanked for their services, particularly the retiring president and the retiring secretary, both of whom have rendered the club very valuable service.
