New Home
A resident in Adwick for the past five years, Mr. Matthew Venables, of Addsetts Farm, Adwick, will shortly be leaving to take up residence at Wath. With the re-organisation of the N.C.B.’s rescue stations the one at Wath will become empty and Mr. Venables, foreman of the Wath and Manvers Repair Department, will be living in the empty station.
A native of Mexborough he came to Adwick five years ago from Swinton and is very well known in the district.
He is secretary of Adwick Pig Club and chairman of the children’s committee. He is known to all his friends as “Mat” and has been closely connected with social work in the village.
He has worked at Manvers Main since leaving school and has been foreman of the Repair Department for 14 years. Mr Venables, a member of a well known Mexborough family, is married with two Children.
