Mexboro’ Trades Council to Press For Representation on Board.
At last night’s meeting of the Mexborough Trades Council it was reported that no reply had been received from the Board of Management of the Montagu Hospital, who had been asked to give their version of the long-drawn out dispute between the Board and members of the honorary medical staff.
It was decided to press for direct representation of the Trades Council on the Hospital Board.
Following the reply of the Mexborough Urban Council to the Trades Council letter asking for the provision a motor ambulance, it was decided write the Mexborough and Swinton Councils asking them to their best to provide ambulance to serve the two townships.
The chairman, speaking of the recent conference held under the auspices of the Mexborough Labour Party with the object of securing an amicable settlement to the dispute between that body and the Trades Council, said that the conference was one of the most unfair he had ever at ended. He was not allowed to put the case of the Trades Council, which decided to write neighbouring Labour Parties informing them that the Trades’ Council would continue to function as a separate entity, and was willing to co-operate with the Labour Party in matters requiring joint action.
