These photographs were taken at Kirton Lindsay on Saturday and feature Mexborough grammar school headmaster, Mr G Shield, with the Luton Minor monoplane he built and which had its maiden flight on Sunday.

It had been hoped to fly the aircraft on Saturday but the postponement was made because of the high wind.
