Miss Edith Allen’s Annual Concert

April 1916

Mexborough and Swinton Times, April 1916

Miss Edith Allen

on Thursday evening, next Miss Allen’s annual concert is due to be held in the free Christian Hall Mexborough.

Miss Allen who is a professional vocalist of high repute, usually associates with her in her annual effort artistes of considerable reputation. On Thursday next one of the great attractions should be the visit of Monsieur Henry Dubois, the Belgian Operatic Baritone of the Liege conservatoire. Nearer where other well-known artists who are associated to appear are Miss Lillian Horsman, elocutionist, Sheffield; Miss May Pete, L.R.A.M., solo violinist, Sheffield; Mr Arthur Stephenson, solo pianist; Mr Arthur Butler, the local tenor; and the West N Glee’s Singers.

Apparently Miss Allen has provided a splendidly ready program to be set before her patrons next Thursday, and we anticipate that the event will, as usual, be liberally patronised.
