Midland League Football Mexboro’s Withdrawal
The Mexboro’ Football Club has given notice to withdraw from the Midland Counties Football League on financial grounds, and the notice, unless withdrawn, will take effect from the annual meeting of the League in June. There no likelihood that the present management of the club will reconsider its decision or commit itself as a body to further liability for the maintenance of Midland League football in Mexboro’, but it is possible that individuals may wish to make a further attempt to retain this class of football in Mexboro’ and the present chairman of the club.
Mr. W. P. Turner. is quite willing to convene a meeting of such individuals, if desired, in order that the possibility of reorganisation might he discussed and, if thought fit, attempted. Anyone willing or able to provide the financial backing necessary should get into touch at once either with the chairman or the secretary of the Football Club.
The deficit on the expiring season has been reduced by a fee of £100 paid by the Wednesday Football Club for the transfer, last week, of L. Wassail, left half-hack. The estimated liability of the club at the end of the season is £350, covered by guarantee.
