Mrs Irene Owen, voted Mexborough’s Shop Assistant of the Year during the town’s pre-Christmas illuminations shopping period, December 5-24, received the tickets for a mini weekend in London for two (presented by the Chamber of Trade) at a buffet reception arranged in the Board Room of the “South Yorkshire Times” on Monday evening by Mr G.S. Milsom, Director and Advertisement Manager (second from the left).
