Mexborough’s Housing Plans.

The Mexborough Housing Committee has decided upon the erection of 228 houses so soon as the site of the housing scheme is passed, and the scheme approved.

The houses are to be built on rising ground in the east end of the town, the land, 27 acres, having been purchased from Captain F. J. O. Montagu, of Melton Park.

The allotment of houses to the acre is 11, and a large garden is provided for each house. The houses arc of two main types, sub-divided into four. The best houses have six rooms, and a bath-room, and the remainder. 192, have five rooms and bath accommodation. They are grouped in three streets, the roads being forty feet wide, with provision for planting the pavements.
