Mexborough School Attendance Cases.
William Frank Mason, miner, Mexborough, was summoned at the instance of the Mexborough School Board for having committed a breach of the education bylaws, by not sending a son Frank, aged 11 years, regularly to school.
Mr. Henry O’Neil, the Attendance Officer, proved that the boy had attended only 36 time out 59.
A fine of 6d and 4/6 costs was imposed.
A summons had been taken out against Elisabeth Robinson, in respect to Thomas Robinson, aged 12 years. The child is in the second standard, and had attended only 24 times of a possible 57.
There was a previous conviction and a fine of 7/6, including the costs, was imposed.
