Mexborough Hospital
With regard to the latest development of the unfortunate dispute at the Montagu Hospital, Mexborough, the suspension of contributions from the Manvers Main and Barnburgh Main Collieries, we have been asked to make it clear that this action has not been taken by the miners employed at these collieries and subscribing to the hospital, might be assumed from our paragraph dealing with the subject yesterday.
What has happened is that the facilities for collecting the hospital levy at the colliery offices have been temporarily withdrawn and the treasurer of the hospital has been informed by the general manager of the collieries that no levy will be collected through the colliery offices until the dispute settled.
The miners themselves have taken no action in any direction, and so far can be ascertained have any expressed opinion as the dispute. Their contributions would have been paid if they had been deducted as usual.
