Mexborough Meat Problem.
The Mexborough butchers have refused their allocation of dead meat from the Doncaster Market, and no meat will be sold in Mexborough this week end.
The Mexborough butchers asked that instead of their cattle being slaughtered in Doncaster, they should, owing to the weather, be brought to Mexborough for slaughter. This was represented to the market authorities at Doncaster, to no purpose, while at the same time live beasts were allocated for slaughter at Denaby, Conisborough, and Swinion.
The Mexborough medical officer (Dr. J. J. Huey) supports the butchers in their attitude.
