Bloxham County Primary School a £62,000 post-war school in Warwickshire was formally opened last Thursday by Mr. P.H.B. Lyon, former headmaster at Rugby School.  The headmaster of the new primary school is Mr. Ernest Goddard Mexborough son of Mr. and Mrs. P Goddard of 92, Hirstgate.

Mr. Goddard has been head since Easter and previously headmaster at Brockhurst Church of England School, Monks Kirby where he went on leaving the forces in 1946.

A former Mexborough Grammar School student he gained a B.Sc. degree at Sheffield University and has also taught in Cornwall and Croydon. Mr Goddard is married, and has five children.
