Mexborough Feast and Military Tournament.

June 1889

Sheffield Daily Telegraph – Wednesday 26 June 1889

Mexborough Feast and Military Tournament.

The second day of Mexborough Feast was extremely successful, and the “gate” the cricket match, when those old opponents, Mexborough and Swinton, antagonised for nearly the 100th time, was better than has been known for several years.

Mexborough batted first, and put on 87 runs. This total Swinton failed to reach by 30.

In the evening there was a military tournament, open to members of the Yorkshire Dragoons, and the attendance was considerably augmented.
