Mexborough Cyclist’s Accident

A serious cycling accident happened at Dronfield yesterday afternoon to A. J. Fenton, of Mexborough. As he was riding down the hill in Sheffield Road, at the bottom of which is the Coach and Horses Hotel, he lost control of his machine, and three-quarters of the way down ran into the kerbstone and was heavily thrown. He was picked unconscious and carried into the inn, where P.c. Downing and Joseph Broadhead rendered first-aid.

He was removed train to Sheffield, and conveyed from the Midland Station by the Rockingham Street ambulance to the Royal Hospital, where he lies in a serious condition.

He is suffering from a fracture of the skull.
