Mexborough Clinic Party

Upwards of one hundred mothers and babies spent a happy, time in Arcadia on Wednesday, the occasion being the annual party of the Mexborough Child Welfare Centre.

For several months Mrs. Bradshaw (president)„ Mrs. Rowlands (secretary), and Mesdames R. Rowland, R. Clark, Milnthorpe, T. Clark, Rice, Price and Wragg had worked hard to raise the funds.

Their efforts had been successful and they had received the assistance of several traders. The Maypole Dairy Co. kindly provided balloons and other novelties with which the hall was delightfully decorated ; Mr. J. Guest loaned the hall and gave other assistance; Mr. T. Wade, Wath, provided a huge Christmas tree which Mr. J. B. Feltham bad decorated with fairy lights. To these, and especially Mr. R. Grainier who gave general assistance, the Committee tender thanks.

A splendid tea was provided by the Committee, after which Father Christmas (Mr. A. Bradshaw) made a visit and distributed gifts to all.

During the evening Miss Betty Smith and her dancing pupils gave an excellent entertainment supported by Mrs. Clark at the piano.
