Rink Talent Left

A Mexborough youth left his native town on Saturday to seek fame and fortune on the stage. He is Ennis Thirkell, 8, Cliff Street, a clever trick skater who has given many a turn at Olympia Rink and elsewhere.
Thirkell’s tricks came under the notice of La Rolla when he came to the Mexboro’ Hippodrome recently. La Rolla conceived the idea of a double “turn,” Thirkell supplying the comedy and eccentric dancing. During the last three weeks the pair have been diligently rehearsing and have got up a splendid “act.” This week they are appearing at Felman’s Theatre, Blackpool, and aro booked ahead under the title of “The Norway Skaters.”
Thirkell is Mexborough born and bred. He is 23 years old and has worked at the local glassworks and collieries, but during the last three years or so has been unemployed. Now he is hoping that his luck has changed.
