Mexboro’ Rider’s Haul

Further honours came the way of Mexboro’ Wheelers at the Balby Sports. when E. Smith, one of the Mexboro’ riders came second to Watkinson, of the Rutland C.C. in the open his time being 2 mins. 9 secs. In the half mile he took third place after a fight with a time of 1 min. 5 secs.
These successes bring Smith’s winnings at track racing during the last seven years to a total of about £200 in prize money.
The club enjoyed a very pleasant run to Buxton on Sunday via the Peacock Inn and Baslow, where they arrived for lunch. The afternoon was spent in touring the dales around Buxton including Monsal Dale where a halt was called for tea. A pleasant return journey was made along the Derwent via Grindleford. Fox House and Sheffield.
Sunday’s run will be chosen at West Street, 8am.
