Hydes For Notts ?

Former Swinton and Mexborough bowler, Bob Hydes, who is now in his second season with Rotherham Town has been approached by Nottingham County Cricket Club for next season.

A representative of the Notts club was waiting at the Clifton Lane ground on Tuesday and also approached Arthur Bastow of Castleford.

Hydes who originally played with Piccadilly in the Rotherham and District League, first played in the Yorkshire Council at the age of 15 as a member of Swinton Athletic Team.  While with Mexborough he took nearly 100 wickets to win the Council bowling averages.

Hyde still lives at Beechwood Avenue, Piccadilly where he has resided since he was four.
