High Spirits Cost Mexborough Men £2 Each
Two men, one of whom had 46 previous conviction, were each fined 40s. at Doncaster West Riding Court on Tuesday for using obscene language. They were Leonard Mangham and Chas. Spring, both labourers, of Mexborough, and they were told to pay at 10s, per week, with a prison sentence in default.
It was stated that in High Street, Mexborough, on December 27th defendants were shouting at one another and using obscene language.
Ordering them to pay at 10s. per week, the Chairman, Col. St. Andrew Warde-Aldam, said the first time they missed they would go to gaol.
It was stated Mangham had 46 previous Convictions and Spring 12.
