Grocery Shop Fire At Kilnhurst.

The Mexborough Fire Brigade, under Chief Officer R. Grainger, put up a smart performance on Saturday night when, within ten minutes of receiving a call to a fire which had broken out nearly two miles away at the shop of P. Hobson, grocer, 51, Glasshouse Lane, Kilnhurst, they were at work on the fire, which was quickly extinguished with comparatively little damage except for a portion of the stock.

The fire originated near the ceiling, and reason of old property adjoining was at the outset a serious menace. It was however, dealt with effectively
