Grave Robbing at Mexborough

The “despicable action” of persons removing flowers from graves in Mexborough Cemetery was strongly condemned by Coun. G. W. Hurst at Mexborough Urban Council meeting on Wednesday.

“It is really tragic when you can find people so low as to rob a grave. Robbing a grave is like robbing the dead.” he said, and added that thefts were usually committed when there was little risk of people being caught at it.

Conn. Hurst appealed to any member of the public seeing a theft of this nature being committed to inform the Cemetery Curator. “Let as see if we can stamp this out,” he concluded.
