Annables’ First ” Hat Trick”
Grantham Town 2 Mexborough Athletic 7
Mexboro’ gave their best display of the season at Grantham yesterday when they won 7-2 after getting the ball into the net ten times.
Mexboro’ were superior in almost every department, Renton and Coleman on the wings being outstanding for the way they made openings for the inside men. ANNABLES has never played better at centre forward, and had secured the hat-trick before the interval. BOLAN also scoring. Mexboro’ maintained their all-round superiority in the second half and further goals were scored by RENTON (2) and BOLAN. The ball was put into the net by the visiting forwards on three other occasions but the points were disallowed.
The Mexboro’ halves were all good with Oxley a dominating figure in the centre. Wheatley and Greig were safe backs.
Mexboro’ will field the same team for their match at Grimsby to-morrow, namely: Best, Wheatley, Greta, Wallis, Oxley, Mixon, Renton, Fleetwood, Annables, Bolan, Coleman.
