Golden Wedding.

To-day (Friday) a former Mexborough couple, Mr. and Mrs. William Clayton, celebrate their Golden Wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton were married at Sheffield, at St. Jude’s Church, on September 29th, 1889.

Mr. Clayton is a native of Mexborough and is brother of Mr. Jim Clayton, of 98, Dolcliffe Road, Mexborough, one of the earliest employees of, the “Times” Printing Co. and now retired on pension.

Mrs. Clayton is the eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Preston, of Cross Church Street, Mexborough. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton, have two sons and two daughters, all of whom reside at Tamworth.

The couple were well known in Mexborough, but for the last few years have been living at Tamworth. They both enjoy good health,
