Girl Trumpeter
Miss Anna Johnson, only daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. J. T. Johnson of 82, Main Street, Mexborough, is an expert trumpeter, cornetist and pianist and recently joined Macari and his Dutch Accordion Serenaders. They were guest artists on Sunday in the B.B.C.’s “Happidrome.”
Miss Johnson has played in many bands, including that of Ivy Benson, and has also been touring with ENSA for 38 months. She taught herself how to play by attending rehearsals of the Old Mexborough Plant Band with her father, a trombonist, in that band.
She has never had a music lesson in her life.
