Four Generations of Mexborough Family

Here is a recently taken photograph of four generations of a well-known Mexborough district family.

The great-father in the centre is Mr. J. Weaver, 21, Rowms Lane. Swinton, and on his left is his son, Mr. Oscar Weaver, Harlington Road, Mexborough, builder and contractor. On Mr. J. Weaver’s right is his grand-daughter, Mrs. M. Beach. Bownas Avenue, Oxford, and the representative of the fourth generation, John Marshal Beach, aged 2i years, Is to be seen in great-grandfather’s arms.

Mr. Marshall Beach worked for some time in Mexborough as an agent for the Pearl Assurance Company, but left some five years ago to join the Oxford City Police Force.

A During his stay in Mexborough he was a prominent member of the Primitive Methodist Church Boys’ Brigade. Mrs. Beach was actively associated with the Girls’ Life Brigade at the Primitive Methodist Church.
