First Entry for Festival of Britain Queen

First entry for Mexborough’s Festival of Britain  Queen contest was received by Mexborough Council Entertainments Officer, Mr. G. Stables, this week.

She is 15-years-old Miss Gloria White, only daughter of Coun. and Mrs. J. H. White. of 60, Bank Street, Mexborough.

The age limit for the competition is 16, but as Gloria will have reached this age next month, before entries are closed, she will be eligible for the contest.

Still at Leeds High School for Girls, Gloria is to attend commercial classes in Mexborough this year on leaving
