Fight Between White and Black
A drunken vagrant accosted a black man in high-street Mexborough, on Saturday afternoon, and usede contemptuous language.
A quarrel followed, and a regular set to was the result, which the negro came up with nothing worse than a scratch.
The negro was carrying a strong metal bell, and in the conflict brought it heavily on his combatant’s head.
