Elsecar had made 106 for two wickets when their match with Mexborough concluded on Saturday. Their first four batsmen had opened the innings well, E. Sykes and Ike Baxter putting on 44 before they were dismissed and J. and R. Bamforth following on with 27 not out and an undefeated 32 respectively.

A weakened Denaby and Cadeby side were robbed of victory at Firbeck when, after declaring at 108 for 8 (Williams 24, Wright 30, Cory 24), the game ended when Firbeck had scored 83 for 7 (Hare 24, Rodgers 19). For Firbeck Luke had 4 for 22. and for Denaby Cory 14 for 32) and Williams (3 for 14) did well.
