Doctor J.A.R. Lee of Mexborough, a native of the town and the eldest son of the late Mr Lee, who was a Councillor and on the Mexborough Urban Council many years.

Doctor Lee was educated at the Mexborough and central secondary school and for 20 years in business at Derby as a pharmaceutical chemist.
