At Doncaster on Saturday, Thos. Thompson, of Conisbro’, for absenting himself from the service of Mr. Barrow, glass and bottle maker, Conisbro’, was ordered to pay 24s. damages and costs. Defendant was speaking at a temperance meeting at Doncaster when he should have been at work.

Five Mexbro’ persons had been summoned for not sending their children regularly to school, and each were fined 5s. including costs.

John Nesbitt, of Mexbro’, was summoned for assaulting Walter Richardson, of Conisbro’. On the 13th inst., complainant and defendant were larking, and the latter tried to take a bottle of ginger beer from Richardson. Complainant then threw a piece of coke at the defendant, when Nesbitt went to him, thrashed him, gave him two black eyes, and then knocked him down unconscious. Fined 5s. and 25s. costs.
