Court Pleas for Mexboro’ Workers.

Given a good character by the police, Joseph Billington, Mexborough, who appeared the Doncaster West Riding Police Court yesterday to answer a charge of stealing 12lbs of flour, value 1s. 10d., and 11lbs,, valued at 1s. 8d., belonging to the Barnsley Co-operative Society, was bound over for twelve months and ordered to pay costs.

The manager of the mill said was surprised to find the defendant in such a position, as he was a very good worker. He asked the Bench to deal leniently with him. Another employee Horace Leeman, of Mexborough, was charged with stealing 8lbs of flour and was similarly dealt with. He was also given a good character.
