Doncaster County Police.

At the sitting of the West Riding magistrates at Doncaster, on Saturday, Annie Snare was fined 10s. and 18s. costs for assaulting Emma Crabtree, her neighbour, at Conisborough.

George Shaw was fined £1 3s. 6d., including costs, for assaulting Edward Bister, at Conisborough.

Joshua Thompson and George Dennis Bramley, glass blowers, of Conisborough, who were charged with stealing two silk hats from the stall of Mary Holland, of Rotherham, in Mexborough market, were discharged on payment of costs and compensation to prosecutrix, the magistrates accepting their plea that the hats were taken in a lark.

Elizabeth Smith pleaded guilty to stealing a quantity of baby linen, the property of Elizabeth Grant, of Mexborough, and was sentenced to six weeks’ hard labour.
