Coun. S. Worth (Chairman of Mexborough U.D.C.) presented on Wednesday a certificate of merit to John Thomas Gething (15), of 72, Windhill Crescent, Mexborough, for his prompt action in going to the aid of Mrs. E. Grainger (63), of Hirstgate, Mexborough, when her clothing caught fire in December.
