Mr. Ben Bailey, managing director of Ben Bailey Construction, Mexborough, who has been appointed chairman of Doncaster Rovers’ Board of Directors. Mr. Bailey is also President of Mexborough Town Football Club.

I left school at 16 in 1971 and immediately got a job at Ben Bailey’s as an Office Junior.  After the interview I received a letter saying the bricks I had ordered were ready for collection!  I telephoned Ben Bailey’s and was told the letters had been mixed up and I had got the job!   It was a lovely to place to work.  Mr Bailey was a gentleman.
