Banksman Knocked Down

William Alien, colliery banksmen, of 10 Market Street, Mexborough, was knocked down by an empty waggon in the Wath Main Yard on a Saturday afternoon as he was leaving work.

Both thighs were broken and his left wrist was also fractured.

He died in the Montagu Hospital, Mexborough, a hour later
