Mr. Geoffrey Ryder Davies, Manager of the Mexborough branch of the Yorkshire Penny Bank limited is leaving Mexborough to take up an appointment as Manager of the Yorkshire Penny Bank at Castleford on August 1st.

He will be succeeded by Mr. H. Whitfield, who comes from Middlesbrough.

Mr. Davies came to Mexborough from Barnsley in July 1937, as Manager, and during his stay here has held official position with many organisations in Mexborough and Swinton.

He was for a number of years Trustee of the Mexborough Athletic Club, and until recently was Treasurer of the club, having held that position for 10 years. He is still Treasurer of the Mexborough and District Loan Tennis Association, and has been connected with the RSPCA and Mexborough Community Centre.

During the war Mr Davies held the position of Deputy Head Warden of the Swinton Wardens Service.
