Mr, Wilfred Marshall, of 7, York Street, Mexborough, who, until his demobilisation in February, was a Sergt.-Major has been awarded the American Bronze Star Medal for service rendered in connection with military operations as radar sergeant.

The medal will be presented at a ceremony at the American Embassy on July 18th.

Joining the Forces in March, 1940, Mr. Marshall saw service in Normandy, landing shortly after D-Day. For a time he served with the American Forces there.

Early this year he was awarded a certificate of merit by Field-Marshal Montgomery.
