An Unswept Chimney

William Lawson, labourer, Mexborough, was summoned for allowing his house chimney to be on fire on the 24th inst.

Inspector Barrett proved the offence, and said the smoke filled all the streets around.

When he saw as man be was pouring water on the fire with a tea cup. He said he did not know how long it was since the chimney was swept.

Fined 20 shillings including costs.
