An Educational Time
A group photographed on Saturday at the ceremonial opening of the new infants’ and junior school at Mexboro’.
The most prominent figure in the group is Sir James Hinchcliffe, Chairman of the West Riding County Council, who opened the building.
The group comprises two other county councillors (Mr. J. Siddall and Mr. G. Schofield), an M.P. (Mr. Tom Williams), members of the local Education Committee (Mrs. Allen, Mr. J. E. Cliff, and Mrs. Arnold), the headmistress of the school, Miss Brockbank (extreme right), the local education officer, Mr. W. H. Jones (extreme: rear), the Rev. W. Ashby (Methodist minister), and some of the pupils of the school.
