Mexborough Man Who Volunteered for R.A.F.

A Mexborough airman who was to have been married on January 1st 1941, has been reported missing. believed killed.

He is Wireless Operator Arthur Jackson, aged 29, only son of Mr.  and Mrs. Arthur Jackson. of 48. Browning Road. Mexboro’.

His, parents received a telegram on Tues. day stating that their son was posted missing, believed killed., since October 13th. It is only a fortnight since he was on leave.

Wireless Operator Jackson volunteered for the R.A.F. on May 31st, before which he was employed by Mr. Jack Stanton. commission agent. as a clerk. Wireless Operator Jackson was to have married Miss Doris Inley of Bowbroom, Swinton. on New Year’s Day.

He was born at Mexborough and attended Dolcliffe Road School.
