A Mexborough Councillor Summoned

James Easton Cliff, a fishmonger, Mexborough, and a member of the District Council, was summoned for disobeying a vaccination order stop

Mr RAH Toby prosecuted.

Henry Wallace, the vaccination officer for the district, said that he was present in court on 23 December 1899, when the magistrates order was made out to the defendant to have a child, named James Thomas Cliff, vaccinated, within three months from that day.

The witness believes the defendant was a member of the Urban District Council, Mexborough. He had not received any notice of successful vaccination.

Defendant was fined 20 shillings including costs
