Council Chairman

Mr. Sam Silverwood, who was elected chairman of the Mexborough Urban District Council. on Monday, has been a member of the Council for five years, being returned at the head of the poll in 1923 with the highest number of votes cast for any candidate up to that time.
Mr. Silverwood is a native of Mexboro’, and. is in business as a carting contractor. He was Chairman of the Child Welfare Committee for two years; a member of the Swinton and Mexboro’ Gas Board, and a member of the Joint Hospital Board.
