Private Charles Steadman, of 10 Glasshouse Ln, Mexborough, was wounded in the advance on July 1, receiving shrapnel in his right arm and right side.

He is now in the University College Hospital, North London, doing well.

Private Steadman is 37 years of age, married, with three children.

Prior to enlistment in January 1915, he worked at Denaby Main. He has been in France.
