New Councillors – Mr Ben Bailey

A native of Hoyland, Mr Ben Bailey, of “Wynburne,” Doncaster Road, Mexborough has only been living in Mexborough for five years, but during that time has become a well-known figure.

His main interests have been centered in the building trade which he entered at the age of 14 at Hoyland.

For six years he was on the staff of the West riding highways department, following which he came to Mexborough, where he went into business on his own account.

He has done a considerable amount of building in the township, and has also fulfilled important Council housing contracts at Hoyland and in the Wortley Rural district.
