Mexborough and Swinton Times October 12, 1918

One of the most popular successes in the solo classes at the Mexborough Musical Festival was that of Miss Nina Haslam, of Mexborough, who won the open pianoforte class on Friday with a very meritorious performance, gaining 168 marks out of 200 for the playing of ” Romance in D Flat” (Sibelius).

She also did very well in the Gold Medal Class open to the winners of the instrumental classes being placed fourth with 83 marks.

Miss Haslam has been a competitor at this Festival for several years, with steadily improving results.
