Mrs. Clarke, of Wellington street, has been notified that her son, Pte. Douglas 0. Parker has been wounded in action in France. He had only been in the line a few weeks. He has written home to say that his wound is in the head, and is not serious.

He was hit during an early morning bombardment, an enemy shell pitching near a group of six men, all of whom were wounded.

He enlisted at the age of 17 and was formerly on the reporting and reading, staff of this paper. He was also a server at St. Georges Church, Mexborough
