Private Halsted of 48, Wellington St, Mexborough, died on April 12, of wounds received in action in France.

He was a stretcher bearer, and had been serving France since December 1916.

Before enlistment he was employed as a joiner at Tinsley on Government work.

He was home on leave earlier this year.
