Sapper Turner, Garden Street, Mexborough, is wounded and in hospital in France.
He has been serving since 1914, and see some very heavy fighting. He has also been twice gassed.
He was a time expired Reservist, and doing his original period of service was very prominent in army athletics, been a very good footballer.
Before rejoining the Army he was employed at the Warren Vale colliery.
